Thank you for all of the encouragement as we announced our plans to adopt. We continue to be so excited, and it is fun to have you all along for the ride!
We are working hard to do everything that we can to make sure that things continue to progress in our adoption process. Unfortunately, there is only so much we type-A folk can do ourselves! We’ve been gathering documents and sending them to all sorts of official-sounding places, notaries, Secretaries of State, and different Chinese Consulates. We’ve signed up for the 24 hours of training that we need to complete before we travel to China, and we start in September. We are doing our best to continue to educate ourselves about adoption, matters related to parenting adopted children, social justice, Chinese culture, and on and on. Our kids are learning about adoption and are perhaps just beginning to understand that their little brother is halfway across the world.
Honestly, for now, we are doing a lot of waiting. Each day we check the mail, waiting for documents that we have sent out to return. And, of course, we anxiously await being matched with a specific child to become a part of our family. There is a very good chance that he is already born which is crazy to think about, exciting, and also heartbreaking. We think of him and pray for him each day. We can’t wait for him to come home.
In the meantime, we have been busy, per usual!
We’ve been playing baseball.
Frankly, we’ve been enjoying summer – living life.
Change is on the horizon. School starts after Labor Day!
